Configuring Eclipse to Use JRockit for WebLogic Development

Creating a new project – Enterprise Application Project to ensure everyone has the same set-up. Enter the project name set the default directory using the browse button if necessary. Select the Target run-time from the drop down. If it doesn’t exist select New.

In the New Server Run-time screen select the Generic BEA Weblogic Server v8.1 under the BEA Systems directory then click Next.

Select the JRE from the drop down. If it is not there (we are looking for the Weblogic JRockit JRE) then click on the blue text ‘Installed JRE preferences’ which will take us to a new screen where we can add it.

If the JRockit one is not here select Add

Browse for the home directory using the Browse button – it should be under D/:WLS8 – Name it the same everywhere call it ‘Weblogic JRockitt JRE’

Use the Standard VM for JRE type
Then click on the OK button

The newly added JRE should now be available for selection. Change the Application Server Directory from the default to the correct folder using the Browse button. It should be under <weblogic_install_root>:/WLS8/ directory. Click the Finish Button and the

Target Runtime should now be set on the project screen

This should ensure that everyone’s project is then set up in the same fashion with the same environment.
